T-shirts are light knitted garments of the undershirt type, made of cotton or man-made fibres (but not pile or terry cloth), in one or more colours, with or without pockets, with long or short fitted sleeves, without buttons or other fastenings, without a collar, without an opening at the neckline, with a close-fitting or lower neckline (round, square, boat or V-shaped). These garments may be decorated, other than with lace, in the form of advertising, pictures or text, obtained by printing, knitting or otherwise. The bottom edge of these garments is usually hemmed.
This heading also includes undershirts and similar sweaters.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned articles are classified under this heading regardless of whether they are intended for men, boys, women or girls.
According to Note 5 to this chapter, this heading does not apply to garments with ties, ribbed waistbands or other gathering devices at the hem.
